It was a little nippy this AM! No 'possums of course, but the odd skunk, we do have. I may not get any this year. We sauteed up a pan of Shaggy Mane Mushrooms with our BF eggs this AM, and 3 puffballs have erupted under the old apple tree. We'll be on the hunt now, after this crazy rain. Apparently a low pressure area got trapped over the province, and it funneled moisture up from the Gulf. Just a smidge over the 7" mark in my gauge this AM! It rained from Tuesday PM to Thursday PM. (got a lot of knitting done!) The sky appears to be starting to clear up now.Rosaleahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09403965807770816977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4097169897777063028.post-42988799836949171492021-09-24T07:46:36.810-04:002021-09-24T07:46:36.810-04:00All of your garden produce looks simply wonderful!...All of your garden produce looks simply wonderful! Your garlic is so beautifully white. Mine, even when cleaned, is not going to win any beauty contests. It's from saved bulbs from several years past so I've ordered some new to plant this fall as a restart. We have lots of mushrooms popping up all over our lawn and on a hike yesterday saw three or four different varieties. Sadly, we've never learned which ones are edible so admire them all from afar with absolutely no taste testing!Mama Peahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03649357184167949247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4097169897777063028.post-38379824623875075202021-09-24T05:28:45.334-04:002021-09-24T05:28:45.334-04:00I do. We recently found one parasol mushroom, and the shaggy's are popping up now. No honeys yet either but expect them.
At last check yesterday, my rain gauge was at 7 inches, the top of the scale in it! This rain episode was CRAZY!! The chanterelles were plentiful last month.
The river by us was raging today. Hasn't been that high since the spring. Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08592184037513559644noreply@blogger.com
